The United Nations said on Tuesday it needed $ 5 billion to provide humanitarian aid to nearly 20 million Yemenis next year

UN Secretary-General António Guterres will convene an international donor conference in Geneva on Feb. 26 for this purpose, UN Emergency Relief Coordinator Mark Lowcock said.

"The humanitarian and food situation in Yemen is deteriorating very badly, and we urgently need this funding to address that situation," Lowcock added at a press release

He pointed out that next year the United Nations aims to reach 15 million Yemenis with food aid, including 10 million people in dire need of food.
