Sana’a, Aden – Newsyemen

Lawyers and jurists stressed the need to give the issue of Houthi violations against the Yemeni people a priority in political, media and diplomatic discourses.

The lawyers and jurists must publicly deliver the Houthi violations against the Yemeni people into a public opinion through organizing seminars and symposiums.

The seminars' or symposiums' outcomes of the Houthi violations and its torture must be presented to the United Nations.

Lawyers and activists have called for a review for the poor handling of the Houthi's opponents over Houthi's abuses, in conjunction with arrangements of human rights organizations that is to launch an international campaign to highlight Houthi violations, a source at a Rights Alliance said to Newsyemen.

The Attorney Faisal al-Majidi said in a statement to Newsyemen that the file of the kidnapped is very important, especially for international agencies' and international organizations' reports that document violations and crimes are /were made by the Houthi group.

In turn, the lawyer Mohammed Ali Allaw calls on working on these reports in all human rights frameworks.

He calls on also to focus on the writings and translate those writings into several languages so as to disclose the Houthi's violations on the Yemeni people, especially the abductees’ issue.

The activist Mohammed al-Ahmadi called for concerted human rights efforts to expose crimes of human rights by all parties, mainly the Houthi, as a Houthi is a head of sin and a violent group with a record of violations since its beginning in Sa'ada province.

Al-Ahmadi said to Newsyemen that there are organizations and activists who have been involved in the Houthi propaganda machine to justify their crimes and attempts to cover them; moreover, blur the image of the international community regarding the human rights situation in Yemen

Al-Ahmadi added that it is the government’s responsibility, activists and the media role are to defend rights and freedoms and any advocacy mechanisms in general as well so as to disclose the militia crimes.

Al-Ahmadi pointed out that there is a problem in the human rights arena concerning the division's state that are witnessed by the human rights movement since 2014.

"The issue of abductees remains marginal or secondary in the media, despite its direct link to freedom, its close relationship to social peace, and transitional justice," says Umm Abdullah, a mother of one of the kidnapees in Houthi prisons for three years ago.

She added that until today lawyers, media and the legitimate government have not been able to create pressure groups in the world for the rights of the abductees.

The lawyer Sami al-Dheeb comments the government's role over the issue of the abductees, saying " the government's role lacks the specific mechanisms and the full-considered in carrying the abductees' file too far in both human rights and diplomacy.

"The lawyers’, jurists’ and activists’ role on human rights violations is a shared responsibility and even the legitimate government and the national commission in allegations of human rights violations," rights activist Dhekra Sultan said to Newsyemen.
