WFP monitors $ 3 billion for relief projects in Yemen

The World Food Program (WFP) announced the establishment of a Special Unit for Safety, Livelihood and Recovery Projects in its office in Aden, southern Yemen,

International Staff will be employed at the Unit, the director of Aden Office Mohammed Ali said, adding that the WFP is currently preparing studies for a number of projects.

The projects will be implemented in the Early Recovery and Livelihood Support Projects' fields.

WFP's Office is currently coordinating with the central bank and the program treasury officials to deposit funds at the Central Bank of Yemen in Aden province.

He pointed out that the action plan for the program next year includes many relief projects and livelihood projects and early recovery.

The move comes in the framework of ongoing coordination between the High Relief Committee and related parties in the Yemeni government.

Three billion and three hundred million dollars have been monitored for the implementation of various relief and humanitarian projects in Yemen.
