BalAbeed tribes prevent export crude oil in al-Aqla in Shabwa

BalAbeed tribes in Shabwa and Hadramout provinces announced to prevent the crude oil export in the oil sector S2 in al-Aqla area in Arma district in Shabwa province, east Yemen.

Tribes said, in a statement after a meeting in al-Aqla, that they had taken a decision to prevent the export of oil after protesters were assaulted by Units of the 21 Brigade and Ataq axis.

The statement described the attack that is made by the military forces on the peaceful protesters as "barbaric use of excessive force against peaceful citizens who demanding to obtain a percentage of the opportunities to transfer the crude oil as a legitimate right as they are the members of the concession area, and they have gotten the highest central directive in this regard.

BalAbeed said a number of people were injured and some cars and tankers were burnt in the army’s unit assault.

The statement added that the protesters will not move from their places until the government provides them fair and equitable compensation.

The army forces of Marib axis have assaulted on a peaceful sit-in when the protesters demanded a 50% share so as to get an agreement to transfer the crude oil into the al-Alam reservoirs in Block 4.

The production of crude oil in the field of al-Aqla ranging from 16 to 18 thousand barrels per a day.
