Houthis loot historical library of Zabeed in al-Hodeida

The Houthi militias seized the library of the historic city of Zabeed in the western province of al-Hodeida, west Yemen.

The militias transformed the library halls which is the oldest Islamic city built in Yemen into pictures' exhibitions of their gunmen's dead.

The Houthi militias looted 35 ancient manuscripts, books and rare treasures documenting the history of the historical city as it was the capital of Yemen in the 13th to the 15th century.

The militias also looted the library's electric generator as well as arrested the library's official and taken him to an unknown destination.

The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization condemned the theft of the manuscripts and the books at Zabeed library by Houthi militias.

The director general of ISESCO described the looting of the library as a criminal act that are committee by the militias against the Yemeni cultural heritage.
