Sana'a University officials sell trees at firewood markets

Old Sana'a University officials sold trees inside its courtyard in the Capital Sana'a to be used for firewood.

The female student at the faculty of Arts Hanadi Aziz said the officials brought workers to cut trees at the university's gardens and sell them in the firewood markets.

The move came amid the lack of the domestic gas was experienced by Sana'a for months.

These trees were working to soften the atmosphere in the open squares and help us to take shelter from the sun's heat, she said.

Another female student Sheikh al-Baidhani said " Houthis have contaminated everything beautiful, they do not feel comfort if they saw something nice, they destroy the whole country.

Sources said to Newsyemen that officials forced traders to buy three thousand trees to be planted in places of the uprooted trees but they plundered the money, and did not grow any tree.

The Houthi militias carried out a mass cut campaign for a large number of decorative trees at government’s bodies, institutions and facilities then sold them at the firewood markets for civilians, exploiting the domestic gas crisis fabricated by the Houthis themselves in their areas suffer from.
