Houthi landmine injures woman,45, in Taiz

A woman lost her right leg on Wednesday Feb. 13 in a landmine explosion south Taiz province, local sources confirmed.

Mrs. Fatima Mohammed, 45, was injured by a mine planted by the Houthi militias in al-Shaqab area in Saber al-Mawadem district in Taiz.

A medical source said to NewsYemen that the woman was rushed to al-Safwa hospital in Taiz.

According to a human rights report, the landmines' casualties in al-Shaqab area in 2018 amounted to 12 civilians, including three women whose legs were amputated,

While others were permanently disabled by the landmines' blast

The Houthi militias blew up 12 Houthis by the improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

Some 287 houses were partially damaged and 22 water tanks were damaged in the area, according to the report of the Human Rights and Development Committee in Taiz province.
