The Arab Coalition led by Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Nations on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen the protection of children affected by armed conflict in Yemen.

The Memorandum was signed by the Joint Forces Commander of the Arab Coalition the Lieutenant General Fahd bin Turki bin AbdulAziz, and the Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict Virginia Gamba.

The Houthi militias have repeatedly violated children's rights by abducting them so as to recruit and put them at the front lines of the battlefields.

Many human rights centers have confirmed that Houthis abducted children at their schools or houses and forcibly took them into the front lines.

The Internationally recognized government accuses the Houthi militias of recruiting more than 20,000 children as being fighters alongside with the armed militias.

The Center for Rehabilitation of Children Recruited and Affected by the Crisis in Yemen funded by King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) recently concluded the rehabilitation of a new group of the recruited children.

The King Salman Center adopted the rehabilitation of 2,000 children who were recruited by the Houthi militias and used by them as tools of war and human shields.
