Shabwa Elite forces ends al-Qaeda era in Markha, Nusab

The Lt. Col. Wajdi Baoum al-Khulaifi, the commander of the "White Mountains'' operation announced on Wednesday the securing 'Markha and Nusab districts' in Shabwa province.
The Lt.Col. al-Kulaifi added the establishment of two military camps for Shabwa Elite Forces in the two districts.
Earlier on Tuesday, Shabwa Elite forces, backed by the Arab Coalition, launched a military operation to purge the two districts from al-Qaeda, with the participation of 3,000 fighters.
The Lt. Col. al-Khulaifi added that the Elite forces set up nine security checkpoints at the entrances of the main areas and roads in the two districts after securing them.
The commander of the "White Mountains'' operation said that it has been established a seventh military axis for the two districts.
Markha and Nusab districts, adjacent to al-Baida province have seen significant activity by al-Qaeda elements, due to the security vacuum and the absence of State's security services.
