Army liberates six villages in Abs in Hajjah

The army took control new positions in Abs district in Hajjah province, north-west Yemen after fierce battles against Houthi militias on Wednesday.

According to field sources, government forces liberated a number of villages in Abs as part of the military operation launched by the fifth military region starting at the end of last week.

The army fought heavy battles against the Houthi militias in Bani Hassan, one of the isolated area of Abs, and liberated areas of Bani Akwa'a and al-Razam, al-Bakera, Bani Kadish, Umm al-Dhaba, and al-Tinah.

The sources pointed out that Houthi militias suffered heavy losses. Many Houthi gunmen were captured in the military clashes.
