CBY calls on banks, bankers to accept USD in any cash class

The Central Bank of Yemen (CBY) announced that it can exchange the US dollar for any of its issues at the same market price.
This move came after the exchange companies and others money accredited windows refused to deal with a 2006-US-dollar Issuance and earlier, and it is sold on the black market less than of a 2009-US-dollar-Issuance.
The bank called for the exchange companies and others to exchange the US dollar as agreed at a meeting on Thursday, April 4, 2019, in order to protect the Public from the exploitation and manipulation of exchange rates of US dollar versions 2006 and earlier.
The central bank has confirmed its commitment to accept all US dollar currency issuances from banks and to act in accordance with the foreign exchange program to feed stocks abroad.
The CBY urged all banks and bankers to accept all issues of the US dollar and exchange it at the same price for the latest issues, in compliance with the instructions issued in this circular issued on 5 March 2018.
The CBY said in a statement that it would carry out campaigns to ensure compliance, and violators will be subjected to sanctions, according to the law.
