The Houthi militias forced shopkeepers in al-Hodeida to install surveillance cameras around the clock in shops, so that they could return to video recordings at any time.

The move aims to subject everyone to surveillance, access to everything that is going on, what are happening and or being said, and restricting the freedom of individuals even in speaking and communicating.

The sources said that the militias gave military ranks 'as  Lieutenant' for heads of the neighborhoods' outside the city of al-Hodeida, beyond military rules and regulations.
