The UAE Red Crescent Authority carried out a relief convoy to the remaining citizens in in al-Duraihemi district in al-Hodeida province on Saturday.

The remaining citizens were prevented by the Houthi militias to get out to the safe areas, using them as human shields.

The Houthi militias hold dozens of civilians, about 100 people, mostly women and children, distributed in about 40 families in the remaining neighborhoods under the militias' control in the district center of al-Duraihemi, south of al-Hodeida province.

The Houthi militias used the remaining citizens as human shields and refused to get them out, while their displaced families' demands to get them out the district's center.

The Joint Resistance Forces shouted through loudspeakers to allow relief vehicles to enter to provide relief to the civilians, as a humanitarian issue. However, the militias refused and threatened those who could try to get out and they would be killed.

Militias had earlier killed two women who tried to leave the city, and the militias planted mines and explosives in the vicinity of the remaining inhabited neighborhoods.

For months, the Joint Resistance Forces backed by the Arab Coalition have imposed a siege on the Houthi militias in residential neighborhoods in al-Duraihemi district center, opening safe outlets for displaced people to get out, and open an outlet in the eastern side for the militias to escape.

The UN fragile truce has not altered the reality and suffering of the besieged population, whether in al-Duraihemi or on the West Coast cities, that are under daily Houthi bombardment with artillery, missiles and various types of weapons.
