Taiz Security Director Brigadier Mansour al-Akhali has justified the failure to arrest the wanted for security Ghazwan al-Mekhlafi amid avoiding unjustified battle with the Houthi group.

Al-Akhali added that Ghazwan al-Mekhlafi is a fugitive in areas adjacent to the Houthi group when Police is to raid the area, clashes would erupt with the Houthi group, a battle is not justified.

Ghazwan al-Mekhlafi and his gang live in al-Masbah neighborhood downtown Taiz, under the protection of the Brigadier Sadiq Sarhan, the commander of the 22nd Brigade, and Abdo Farhan al-Mekhlafi, the commander of the Popular Crowd Militias.
