Outgoing foreign minister accuses United Nations of al-Hodeida deal

The outgoing foreign minister Khaled al-Yamani in the internationally recognized government said the United Nations commits big mistakes in the Yemeni file.

He explained in an interview with "al-Arabiya" that the Houthi militias do not want an agreement because of Iran," and that it, the United Nations, seeks to evade its legal responsibilities, and benefit from the smuggling operations through the port of al-Hodeida.

The former minister demanded the UN Envoy for Yemen to be clear about the implementation of Security Council resolutions and the three references.

Al-Yamani resigned on June 10 amid the performance of the Yemeni foreign ministry, "without giving further details over his resignation". 

He pointed out that "without Saudi support, the Yemeni government could not do its job."

He expressed his confidence in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, pointing out that the formulation of their relations with the Legitimate government need continue dialogue, which is happening now.
