Thousands participated Sunday in a massive march on the island of Socotra to demand the expulsion of the Islah Party, the local branch of the Brotherhood in Yemen.

The demonstrators took to streets of Hadibo city, the  Center part of Socotra archipelago, raising the national flag and red cards, to demand the expulsion of the governor loyal to the Brotherhood.

The protesters expressed their rejection of the Brotherhood's control in Socotra, as well as their displeasure at the deterioration of basic services and their suspension due to the failure of the local authority loyal to Islah.

They called on President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi to remove Governor Ramzi Mahrous from office because of his inability to manage the province and the deterioration of services in all fields.

They stressed the failure of the Brotherhood governor to fail to find solutions to the problems of poor services, expressing their strong rejection of the deployment of pro-Islah militias, and strengthening their presence in Socotra.
