Criticisms of authorities' negligence .. Marib Dam swallows dozens of children, mothers

Due to the absence of swimming guidelines and the absence of divers, there have been increasing cases drowning in Marib dam in Marib province, in front of the Brotherhood authorities in the province.
Eight victims have been drowned in June in Marib Dam and four cases this month, the last of which a pregnant woman sank in the dam who tried to save her child on Wednesday.
The Brotherhood's authorities failed to protect visitors, as there were no divers available to rescue the drowning people or any other means of safety.
According to eyewitnesses, Marib Dam water swallowed up a woman on Wednesday and her body was exhumed after hours of searching by civil defense personnel.
Khadija Abdo Hassan al-Dhamari, 33, of al-Mahweet province jumped in the water after her 11-year-old boy made a distress call, shouting, in the water. She was sunk because she was pregnant and could not hold herself together, and her child was rescued.
"This is the third incident of drowning in the dam water " just in a week. A young man sank last Saturday; a girl also sank, her relatives did not notice her until after she was sank, the diver Nasser Hussein al-Mansouri said in a post on Facebook.
According to information gathered by an editor of NewsYemen about the causes of increasing drowning, the sources explained that there were rocks in the dam which catch the clothes of swimmers.
Citizens called on responsible authorities to provide high means of protection for the dam, and put warning signs swimming, alerting visitors and the dangerous of swimming in the dam.
