A leader at the Islah Party, the local branch of the Brotherhood in Yemen, announced on Monday his resignation from the party in protest at what he called "immoral and illegal practices carried out by the party leaders in Yemen".

Dr. Maher al-Kawri attributed the reasons for his resignation over the Islah Party's practices " what he said immoral and illegal practices for senior leaders across Yemen."

"We have repeatedly wanted to clarify the image through our posts on Facebook over the immoral acts through constructive criticism, and we have repeatedly appealed to you to assess your mistakes," he said in the resignation post.

He added " you remain in the same way and ignore all what we have said the above, and this is evidence of your participation in these inhuman acts.

"We have been met by huge electronic flies and human monsters that have been able to arrest us and even put us in prisons without any legal justification." "It would have been better to use those criticisms in evaluating your wrongs."

"He revealed that many violations, kidnappings and arrests for many activists in social media platforms as well as journalists who were persecuted were carried out by some leaders of the party."
