The Security forces and Rapid intervention backed by the Support Brigades in Abyan province restored al-Mahfad district in Abyan, southern Yemen
Apache Air Force of the Arab Coalition also participated in hunting al-Qaeda elements in the district to cleanse it from the terrorist militia
The Security Belt forces fostered the military reinforcements in the district after al-Qaeda elements carried out a large attack on the General Headquarters Camp and Security Belt Forces' camps in al-Mahfad district on Friday at dawn al-Qaeda's control over the district after the withdrawal of the Security Belt Forces
According to sources and eyewitnesses, armed groups of al-Qaeda elements withdrew from some sites that had seized after the arrival of huge reinforcements of the Security Belt Forces in al-Mahfad district
Sources said that the Security Belt Forces regained all military camps that have been seized by al-Qaeda earlier
Local sources said that about 19 soldiers were martyred and seven injured in the battles against al-Qaeda
