Report: 11 thousand violations committed by the Houthi militias against Hajoor people

A recent human rights report revealed that the Houthi militias, the Iranian arm in Yemen, have committed thousands of violations against humanity in Hajoor areas in Hajjah province, northwestern Yemen. The report issued by the Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms (11384) monitored violations of human rights in Hajoor areas in Kushar district in the province from 1 January 2019 to 20 April 2019

According to the report, the violations varied between murder, physical assaults, arrests, abductions and enforced disappearances, forced displacement, destruction of houses and private properties, violations of children's rights and the right to education, and the bombing, shelling and looting of health facilities, civilian objects and historic sites, confiscation of Freedom, places of worship, torture, ill-treatment, field executions and harassment of women

The field team documented 128 cases of killings by the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist organization, including: 97 killings civilians, murder 14 women, killing 17 children

The report also documented 647 injuries' cases: 49 children, 37 women, 561 civilians, 25 torture and ill-treatment detainees' cases, 356 arbitrary detention cases, and (748) violations of private property, including (25) cases of house bombings, (68) storm and check houses, (2) gasoline burning cases, 202 of storming and looting cases, 178 looting and occupation cases, (149) partial destruction cases, (16) bombing cases resulting in fire, 63 bombing cases resulting in total destruction, and 45 cases of shelling, looting and occupation

The organization documented 3,996 looting private properties , including 716 looting house furniture, 68 looting various types vehicles, 44 looting and confiscation trucks, 15 confiscation of motorcycles, (16) looting large shops, (21) looting small shops (grocery stores), (7) looting medical dispensaries, (5) looting gas distribution agencies and (65) looting generators of different sizes , In addition to destroying (3020) farms, and (6) looting and confiscation of agricultural water pumps

The field monitoring team documented 892 families who were forcibly displaced, with a total of 24,000 males, females and children. Of these, 425 families were settled in villages and 225 families were housed in schools, (1550) families have displaced from neighboring district ina total 24400 males and females

The team monitored 109 cases closure of educational schools, disruption of their studies, the occupation of 20 schools and their conversion into military barracks for the Houthi militias

The team also documented 170 cases of violation, including two bombings of mosques and Quran memorization schools, 5 Sheikhs have been arrested, 119 cases Houthi militias imposed religious speakers for mosques, 50 cases of displacement of imams and religious figure

The team also monitored and documented (8) cases of violation of exchange shops and confiscation of cash transfers, including (6) closures of exchange shops, and (3) cases of looting of citizens' remittances
