Mocha residents on Monday launched an urgent distress call to local authorities and working organizations to save them from a possible environmental disaster.
They said in a letter arrived in New York that the fumes resulting from the burning of garbage piles, in the landfill, which was developed next to the power plant is becoming a danger to the lives of the population, especially those suffering from respiratory problems.
They added that the burning of rubbish at night has increased at a high rate compared to the previous one, as a result of population increase and urban expansion witnessed by the brain since its liberation in March 2017.
They demanded that the landfill be moved out of Mocha in Jabal al-Nar, warning that urbanization eastward would make the site of the current landfill downtown.
