For the fifth year in a row, the Islah Party has occupied many schools in the city of Taiz after turning them into military barracks and secret detention camps for the group, while the Taiz Brothers are working to expand private education in the besieged city.
Thousands of city students were cut off after several public schools announced they had finished receiving students, overcrowded classrooms and closing many schools after they were turned into military barracks.
Several school administrators say that overcrowding in schools has been the result of continued school closures and military barracks, causing overcrowding and hundreds of students turning to private education.
The local authority announced the normalization of life in the city, which included the rehabilitation and delivery of schools to the Education Office, but Islah did not, and sought to perpetuate the occupation of education facilities and the state in general in parallel with an explosion in the party's private education facilities.
