On Wednesday, September 18, 2019, engineering teams from the Joint Forces dismantled a minefield in the Qutaba Al Sharqiya district of Khokha district, Hodeidah governorate.

A military source in the joint forces explained that two women from the area stopped a mobile police crew and informed them of the appearance of foreign objects buried in a grazing and logging area in east of Qataba due to the recent winds and rain.

An engineering team from the Joint Forces moved to the area and surveyed it, uncovering a minefield left over from what the militias had planted before being defeated in an area frequented by children, shepherds and women to fetch water and wood.

Engineering teams continue to dismantle and remove mines, including anti-vehicle mines and Iranian-made vehicles.
