Political sources  talked about an unspoken tacit agreement between the Yemeni presidency and the UN Secretary General's Special Envoy and some members of the Quartet on Yemen last month to accelerate direct settlement negotiations with the Houthis and put the Saudi-led coalition in the fait accompli.

The information suggests that Britain has embraced this course, which has received positive statements from the Yemeni presidency in Riyadh that are urgently taking practical steps to achieve progress under the heading of "containing the war."

Sources gathered at Newsyemen put Hadi's brief, quick and vague visit to the United States for several days in the context of the arrangements that were requested in this regard.  Similarly - therapeutic and lengthy - to President Hadi to the United States and returned only after the meetings of Sweden ended.

Western press reports that did not reach Yemen or were reported by the Arab press and media, made it clear at the time that the British actions were based mainly on “a Yemeni official request and petition from the transitional president personally” who wanted to keep matters regarding the issue of Hodeidah in particular away from the objectives and decision of alliance.

The British and the Special Envoy have cited on more than one occasion that President Hadi personally demonstrated his firm commitment to not wanting a military option at all.

Up to this point, the sudden US statements of direct dialogue with the Houthis and Riyadh urged them to meet secretly with the Houthi rebels in Muscat -Oman, in order to reach an agreement to end the war, in a vague formula, which is said to be the Yemeni presidential desire and British orientations.

At the end of his tour of the region, Martin Griffith flew to Washington and said in published statements that he counted heavily on the administration's support and efforts to get the parties to engage in a final-status dialogue.  This means overcoming the obstacle and requirements of the Hodeidah Agreement and its implementation, as well as the prisoner exchange agreements and Taiz, the outcomes of the Stockholm talks.

Many things happened in haste, before the sudden American statements and steps towards rapprochement with the Houthis and a British effort culminated in Tehran with the Iranians with a meeting with the Houthi delegation, but the latest and unprecedented attacks on Saudi Aramco on September 14 thwarted the rush of the process ..

The latest developments in Aden and the southern governorates of Shabwa and Abyan have increased the urge and urgency of the Yemeni presidency, where a firm conviction towards political decisiveness crystallized in any way with the Houthis under the administration of the Special Envoy and British-American welfare.

This is matched by the sabbatical of the presidency and the legitimate leadership to face the events and developments in the south in a firm formula that gives priority to military action, which is explained by the failure and frustration of the Saudi initiative in the name of the coalition leadership for bilateral dialogue in Jeddah twice and violate the first truce agreement before moving troops towards Aden from Marib and Shabwa.

In the meantime, the manifestations and escalation messages from within the legitimacy towards the coalition and the Saudi leadership of the coalition supporting the legitimacy increased against a backdrop of open escalation against the UAE.
