The Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, has imposed new financial levies on exchange companies in its areas of control, while closing six companies in Sanaa.

The Houthi militia justified the move, not by the exchange companies to abide by the laws of the Central Bank, which is under its influence in Sanaa, but the militia allowed the companies to resume work after paying tens of millions.

The information indicates that the Houthis intend to impose 17% taxes on remittances through exchange companies.

It is not only commercial and private banks and money changers that target the new Houthi looting. The Houthis have imposed new taxes on vegetables and fruits in excess of 70%.

Newsyemen, on YouTube, publishes a Motion Graphic video that reviews the new Houthi looting campaign against exchange companies in their areas of control, as well as new taxes that have been approved and have not excluded farmers, government school students and international humanitarian organizations.
