Joint forces thwarted on Tuesday an infiltration attempt by groups of Houthi militias on the positions of the forces in the coastal area of al-Faza, affiliated to the Tahita district.
At the same time, there were fierce confrontations between the joint forces in Hays district with the militia groups and they failed a major attack under heavy fire coverage with various heavy, medium and light weapons, artillery and rocket-propelled grenades.
The Houthi militias stepped up militarily on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, coinciding with the arrival of the UN envoy to Sana'a and his talks on the resumption of peace consultations, while the implementation of the Hodeida agreement remains stalled until further notice.
The field source added in Al-Faza, west of Al-Tahita, that the joint forces fought fierce clashes with Houthi militia militants using various types of heavy and medium weapons and artillery shells.
It was pointed out that the militias fired dozens of shells towards the sites after failing to infiltrate and used heavy mortar artillery shells intensively.
