The educational process resumed at Kuwait School on Sunday, after a break of three years.
The resumption of schooling comes about four days after the evacuation of displaced people.

On the first day of school, the students and the educational and administrative staff were relatively present.

The headmaster, Ahmed Omar, said attendance on the first day was good, adding that about 70 percent of teachers attended, while about 30 percent of students attended.

He attributed the reason for the low attendance of the 500 students, because the majority of them do not know the first day of work.

The students sat on the floor of the classroom for lack of chairs, and Omar said the school lacked furniture, appealing to the UAE Red Crescent and local authorities to help provide the school with the necessary needs.

He pointed out that the classrooms in the school where students study from primary to secondary, lack the textbook, blackboards, chairs and tables.

The school administration also lacked filing racks, forcing it to place students' files in plastic bags, he said.
