Yemeni students in Russia have accused Yemen's ambassador in Moscow, Ahmed Salem al-Wahishi, of summoning Russian police to arrest protesters who are demanding late payments.

A student source told Newsyemen that two students, Yusuf Marei and Waas Saeed Sharif were forced to sign papers that they violated Russian laws and then detained by order of the ambassador.

The head of the Yemeni Students' Union in Moscow, Radfan Almas, said that the Russian police arrested the two students after closing the embassy in front of the protesting students who demanded their dues that have been cut for nearly a year.
He added that the embassy closed its doors to students who came at the invitation of the Cultural Attaché. The students decided to carry out a protest, but the embassy summoned the police and arrested two of them.

Three Yemeni students had staged a sit-in near the embassy in Moscow to demand their dues, and stopped their sit-in last Sunday after the prime minister pledged to solve their problem.
