The local authority and the national army, represented by deputy Abdul Karim Shiban, head of the road-opening negotiations committee, welcomed an initiative announced by the Houthi group on Wednesday through the group's leader Ali al-Qurashi to open a humanitarian outlet west of the city of Taiz in central Yemen.

Deputy Shaiban said that Ghalib Mutlaq, Minister of Public Works in Sana'a government, had contacted him and informed him of the high directives from the group's leadership to open a humanitarian outlet in Taiz city in the coming days, and wished the Houthis to implement the initiative.

He pointed out that he sent the draft agreement to the minister in charge of opening the roads, Ghalib Mutlaq, and included the roads to be opened and a proposal to remove mines by the group, and we have secured the ports and the cease-fire from the open port to ensure the safety of transit and travelers.

The information indicates that the Houthi initiative to open Taiz outlets is the outcome of meetings and communication between businessman Shawqi Ahmed Hael and the leaders of the Houthi group during the past days.
