Commander of the National Resistance - Member of the Joint Command in the West Coast Brigadier General Tariq Mohammed Abdullah Saleh, confirmed that Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed deserved to win the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize.

This came in a tweet on Friday, on his account, after the award management announced the award of the Nobel Peace Prize this year, to the Ethiopian Prime Minister, Abe Ahmed, in recognition of his efforts to achieve peace between his country and Eritrea.

"The Nobel Peace Prize went to Abiy Ahmed, who managed to go beyond man-made borders and complexities to bring stability to his country and peace with his neighbors and regional surroundings," Brigadier Tareq Saleh said.

The leader of the National Resistance concluded his tweet, saying: "Peace be upon you Abi Ahmed."

Thanks to Abe's efforts, Ethiopia and Eritrea restored relations in July 2018 after years of hostility, and after a 1998-2000 border war.

The prize, worth 9 million Swedish crowns, equivalent to about 900,000 dollars, will be delivered in Oslo on December 10.
