Piles of garbage in Taiz streets due to corruption of Islah Authority

A source in the Cleanliness Fund said that the cleaners stopped working in protest against the interruption of their salaries for three months, accusing the local authorities to loot revenues imposed on trucks and traders, which was covering the salaries of cleaners who are not more than one hundred workers, a reference to the authority of Islah Party in the province.

The source pointed out that the local authority in the province did not take any solutions or measures to address the problem before it worsened and turned into an environmental disaster, where on al-Muroor Street, which divides the city of Taiz in two halves, pedestrians find it difficult to walk due to piles of garbage scattered here and there.

During our visit to the al-Masbah neighborhood, which is a prestigious neighborhood in the city of Taiz and inhabited by the military and local authorities, most of its streets were closed by garbage piles as a model of corruption cases that are indifferent to the situation in the city.

Bajash al-Aghbari points to the widespread of epidemics and diseases among the residents of the neighborhood, accusing the local authority in Taiz of indifference towards citizens.

 According to one doctor, many diseases have spread widely among the population, due to the accumulation of garbage and the spread of flies and mosquitoes and the multiplication of bacteria
