Local sources in Ibb province said that clashes between tribal gunmen and Houthi militias in the center of Ibb left two people dead and more than 12 wounded.

The sources added that the clashes erupted because of the acquisition of militias on Mount Morm, which is one of the most important tourist areas overlooking the city.

The tribes of Beit al-Dhabyani, al-Mawlid, al-Hubub, Dhafer, and al-Rubai refused that Houthi militias, Iran's arm in Yemen, would divide the mountain and distribute it as plots of land for its field commanders.

The tribes asserted their right to defend their property in the mountain according to their historical land documents.

The sources said that the mediation failed to contain the situation and that the Houthi militias erected points in the center of the city and launched a campaign of arrests of the tribesmen and took them to unknown areas.

The sources confirmed that Houthi militias used heavy weapons against tribesmen and indiscriminately.
