The Houthi militia, has closed a women’s center to teach Quran in a mosque in the capital Sanaa, which is under its control.

Local residents said that the Houthi militia prevented the students and teachers of the Al-Firdous Mosque Center for Teaching the Holy Quran in Sa'wan neighborhood, northeast of the capital, from entering and holding memorization workshops.

The Houthi militia justified the closure of the mosque and the center by not teaching the group's lieutenant Hussein al-Houthi, as well as the head teacher teaching books of Hadith, including Sahih al-Bukhari and Muslim.

They pointed out that the militias intend to impose a Houthi supervisor from the Zeinabiyat women's battalions, after the removal of the director of the Center for memorizing the Qouran in the mosque.

In response, the students and teachers of the center carried out a vigil in the street to reject the Houthi abuses and prevent them from entering the center and the mosque.
