Twelve million cost of the celebration of the Prophet's birthday at the University of Sana'a

Official documents revealed that the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, spent more than 12 million Yemeni riyals to establish one celebration event on the occasion of the "Mawlid al-Nabawi", which falls on the first of 12 Hijri year.

While professors and employees of the University of Sana'a are suffering from a cut in salaries for the third year in a row, the Houthi militia is preparing in the university and through the so-called "University Student Forum", an entity loyal to the group, is preparing to organize a celebration event by the amount of 12.339.500 Yemeni riyals

Since early October, the Houthi militia in Sana'a and the governorates under its control have been carrying out extensive collection campaigns targeting merchants and private sector workers and have imposed heavy sums of money on the pretext of participating in the event.

The Houthi militia is using religious events and worsening living conditions to mobilize citizens in demonstration marches in which it tries to inspire abroad its ability to control the street in the provinces under its control.
