A security force seized on Saturday a shipment of prohibited materials for the installation of drones in al-Mahfed district of Abyan province, south of Yemen, on its way to Sanaa, via Shabwa - Marib.
The deputy commander of the Rapid Intervention Battalion, Mehdi Al-Kazemi, reported the seizure of a truck loaded with smuggled materials for drones, while it was on its way to Shabwa and then to Marib and then to Sana'a.
He said the driver came from Aden, carrying documents stating that the shipment was household items, while the cargo was for the manufacture of drones, along with narcotic drugs.
Al-Kazemi said that the preliminary investigations with the driver revealed that the truck left the port of Aden, carrying household items for one of the traders in Sana'a, and was replaced by these banned materials, in meat hangars in Aden.
