The Houthi militia,, has been transformed the birth of the Prophet into an annual season of looting of citizens, merchants and private sector companies in areas under its control.
The Houthi militia, on the other hand, use this religious occasion as an opportunity for sectarian militancy and to devote their doctrinal project open to Iran's dictates.
During the last two years, the Houthi militia's celebrations of the Prophet's birthday, especially in Sana'a, have been dominated by twelve rituals, with Yemenis celebrating in an unusual manner.
The Houthis forced shopkeepers in cities under their control to paint their doors green, and imposed financial royalties on small and large shops in the name of the celebration.
