The UAE Red Crescent on Sunday delivered an urgent shipment of medicines to the main field hospitals in Hodeidah as part of an emergency response program to respond to epidemics that have re-spread.

The departments of the three field hospitals in the directorates of Al-Durahami, Al-Tahita and Al-Khokha received emergency quantities of medicines and laboratory solutions needed to control and treat the epidemics of fevers, especially dengue fever.

The director of the field hospital in Al-Tahta, Dr. Hayel Shaya, said that the hospital received, on Sunday, 40 cases of dengue fever from the population of the directorate of the population density of up to 25 thousand people.

The directors of the field hospitals referred to the UAE's continuous and rapid support to the health sector in the West Coast in general, stressing that this support enabled hospitals, centers and health units to remain open and provide free medical services to citizens.

The UAE, through its humanitarian arm, the Red Crescent, has increased its support to the health sector in the West Coast in response to a distress call from the competent authorities and the people to face the epidemics, especially dengue fever.
