A human rights report documented the killing of more than 15,000 civilians and the injury of 23,000 others, shot by the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, during the past five years in Yemen.

A report issued by the Yemeni coalition to monitor human rights violations on the occasion of the International Day for Human Rights, said that its field teams have documented the killing of (15,420) civilians and wounding (22,916) others since September 21, 2014 until the end of October this year.

The report added that (4,272) civilians are still under kidnapping at the Houthi militia, while (6,352) children are being recruited until now.

It explained that the mines laid by the Houthi militia in a number of governorates have killed about 1,300 civilians.

The coalition confirmed that these violations are a flagrant violation of human rights law and the charters of international humanitarian law by the militia.

A monitoring coalition called on the international community to intervene effectively to end these violations and play its role on grave violations of human rights in Yemen with impartiality and independence and to take measures to deter and reduce the perpetrators of those crimes.

The coalition called on the Houthi militia to protect civilians in all military operations, distinguish between civilians and military personnel, and immediately halt all forms of violations against civilians, and release all arbitrarily and forcibly disappeared detainees, including children, women, the elderly, politicians, the media, and civil society activists.
