The Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, looted a large sum of money from a citizen of Arhab region of Sanaa governorate, which is under its control.

A local source said that a point belonging to the Houthi militia in Sanaa plundered 12 million riyals from Tariq Al-Awmari, from Arhab tribe, while he was going to buy a "crane."

The source confirmed the confiscation of the full amount by the point personnel, under the pretext that it is from the new edition, issued by the Central Bank of Yemen in Aden.

Last week, the Houthi militia issued a decision prohibiting the circulation of the currency that the legitimate government printed, and gave citizens and merchants a month to dispose of them.
