Campaign to close the cafes .. force their owners to leave outside Yemen

Houthi militia authorities, the Iranian arm in Yemen, continue to close some cafes in the capital, Sana'a, on the pretext that they have not met conditions and work requirements.

The owners of cafes in Sanaa told Newsyemen that the Houthi militias intransigent in dealing with them and refuse to allow them to reopen their cafes, exercising their right to extortion that has nothing to do with the legal status or criteria and requirements of work

They added, that the Houthi militia has reopened the cafes that were closed after their owners paid extra-legal royalties to the militia leaders.

While sources in the Tourism Office of the capital Sana'a, Sanaa, indicated that the number of cafes in the capital exceeds 160 cafes and cafes, the sources spoke to Newsyemen that the amounts paid by the owners of cafes and cafes ranged between (150-200) thousand riyals for each café and café, which means that Al Houthi militias collected about (24) million riyals from the campaign they carried out against cafes.

Some owners of cafes that are still closed due to the intransigence of the Houthi militias indicated that they are considering closing them permanently and transferring their investments outside the capital or outside Yemen, especially in light of the continued harassment and blackmail of the Houthi militia leaders.
