An official in the Red Sea Mills in the city of Al-Hodeidah, west of Yemen, announced today, Saturday, that the grinding of wheat of the World Food Program has been stopped, as a result of being targeted by the Houthi militia with an artillery shell.

The media center of the giants brigades operating within the joint forces, on the authority of the technical director of the Red Sea Mills Corporation, Anwar al-Faqih, stated that "the shell stopped the process of milling, packing and processing, and permanently disrupted three packing lines, as well as permanently destroyed the material transfer lines."

He added, "The shell hit the surface of the flour silos, creating a hole measuring 8 x 10 meters from the front, 4 x 3 meters from the back and 12 meters from the top, and exposed to wind, rain and sun, which exposes the stock to damage."

He continued: "After the Houthi bombing, we operate in an atmosphere of fear and anxiety, especially workers, drivers and the insurance company (SGS), noting that the missile was" fired from the Houthi-controlled areas of the city of Hodeidah. "

The technical director of mills called on the United Nations to "play its role and to ensure that such crimes are not repeated", warning that "the continued bombing and preventing distribution exposes the amount of 50 thousand tons of wheat to be destroyed within at least 6 months."

He said that "keeping wheat quantities for more than a year in silos due to preventing their distribution has resulted in damage to more than 5 thousand tons, and that the existing quantity is fifty thousand tons, or 10% of the stock, which is more than a million bags of wheat expected to be processed, and the loss of more than 200 thousand bag during processing. "

Yesterday, the joint forces confirmed that the Houthi militia bombed the Red Sea mills, east of the city of Hodeidah, with a 120-mm mortar shell, before distributing it to the needy, considering the targeting as an attempt to destroy what was prepared and denying the citizens of food aid and increasing their daily suffering.
