Aden water establishment stops pumping

The Aden Water Corporation said that water pumping was stopped on Monday, due to damage to the main tube.
It added, in a post on official Facebook page, that the 28-inch pipeline feeds four districts of: Al-Tawahi, Al-Mualla, Sira and Khor Maksar.
The Water Corporation confirmed that the pipeline is more than 37 years old, and that it is now worn out and affected by echo, which would have led to the formation of a vast pool of fresh drinking water, and the most dangerous of which is the drowning of panels that control water pumps.
It pointed out that the station workers are continuing to carry out maintenance of the tube until the moment to complete the task.
It appealed to the citizens to rationalize and reduce the consumption of water, in order to maintain its sustainability during the current period of maintenance, and even to resume pumping water.
