A massive fire broke out, on Tuesday, in a camp for displaced people in the governorates of Taiz and Al-Hodeidah, in the Al-Masameer area in the Khanfar district of Abyan governorate, in southern Yemen, which led to the destruction of many (straw bale houses) and devoured their belongings without causing any casualties.

The Governor of Abyan commissioned Major General Abu Bakr Hussein Salem, his agricultural affairs advisor, Haydara Dahha, to go to the field to inspect the damage to the homes of the displaced people built from straw to find remedies for the problem.

"As soon as I was informed of the fire, I went to the camp and saw the fire and the damage, and listened to the displaced people, and I informed the governor of all that I witnessed," Hydra Dahha, told Newsyemen.

The adviser to the governorate of Abyan added: "All the damage caused to the displaced will be recorded, and it will be submitted to the local authority, which promised to help them as a result of what happened to their camp, and to provide the required assistance urgently."
