8,000 cases of cancer in Taiz

The number of cancer cases in Taiz rose to 8,000, including 718 new cases last year, an increase of 100 from 2018.
The director of the Al Amal Cancer Center in Taiz, Mukhtar Ahmed Saeed, said the center receives 120 to 150 cases a day at the level of increased demand, knowing that it offers all services free of charge.
He said that the laboratory department provides its free services for about 150 cases and the chemical giving department receives about 50 cases per day while the department of monitoring fills with its entire capacity of 20 beds.
The director of the National Cancer Foundation, Mokhtar Ahmed Saeed, appealed to local and international organizations to support the center, alleviate the suffering of patients and help restore the center's main building, which was destroyed by the shelling of The City of Taiz by houthi militia.
