Journalist Najwa Kassem dies of heart attack

Najwa Qassem, a news anchor for Al-Hadath and Al-Arabiya, died today at the age of 52 from a heart attack in her Dubai apartment.

Hari Qassem has been a well-known media figure on the Arab scene for more than two decades, covering for many years the wars in Afghanistan, Iraq and Lebanon.

Najwa Qassem worked for Lebanon's Future TV for 11 years before moving to Al Arabiya in 2004, and in 2011 she was selected among the 100 most powerful women in the Arab world by Arabian Business magazine and in 2012 received the Mei Chidiac Television Creativity Award.

Al-Arabiya, with hearts believing in god's judgment and destiny, mourns the network of "Arab", "Al-Arabiya Al-Anath", media colleague Najwa Qassem, who passed away this morning at her home in Dubai.
