Teachers who participated in a protest, Thursday, in front of the Maasheeq (Presidential) Palace in the temporary capital, Aden, confirmed that the demonstrators came under fire from guarding the gate.

Dozens of teachers demonstrated in front of the palace Thursday morning to "demand their rights," according to a statement.

The media official for the "Southern Teachers Syndicate" in Aden, Rahma Aidroos, said that the demonstrators were subjected to a hail of live bullets by the guard.

No injuries were reported among the demonstrators.

But a source guarding the palace said, "Gunshots in the air were to prevent the protesters from storming the gate."

Rahma Al Aidarous said that the shooting terrorized and intimidated the teachers who served the educational process and were deprived of their most basic rights.
