The Islah militia, the branch of the Brotherhood and its military units affiliated with them, still controls many educational facilities and refuses to leave them, in the city of Taiz, central Yemen.

Human Rights sources said that the Fifth General, a presidential guard, led by Brigadier General Adnan Raziq, occupies the building of the Medical College for the third year in a row, and refuses to hand him over to the presidency of the University of Taiz, and the exit from the building is required to pay an estimated amount of thirty million riyals.

Students of the College of Medicine implemented several protest stances calling for the exit of the Fifth Brigade, a presidential guard from the college, and accused the Major General and the Axis of depriving them of continuing their education in the college, and distributing them in halls that are not suitable for studying and applications of medical college students.

Students and the leadership of the group also accuse the Fifth Brigade of a presidential guard of tampering with the contents and laboratories of the college, and looting of contracting equipment and building materials from warehouses that were equipped to implement repairs and the halls and factories were affected, and their value is estimated at more than two billion riyals.

The Dean of the College of Medicine has warned the leadership of the Taiz axis against canceling the Saudi Reconstruction Program, the financial grant allocated to equipping and furnishing the college, as a result of the continued refusal of the Fifth Brigade Presidential Guard to hand over the building of the College of Medicine to the Deanship and the contractor in charge of implementing the project.
