The leader of the so-called battalion of death, affiliated with the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, was killed during battles with government forces on the Naham front, east of the capital, Sanaa.

A military source said that the so-called "battalion of death" of the Houthi militia was handed over to the national army after the killing of its leader Jaber al-Muayyad and the leader of the Houthi Yahya Muhammad Nasser Fadil, the recruiting official at the Naham front, along with dozens of militia members.

It added that dozens of Houthi elements surrendered to the army after confrontations that lasted more than thirty hours, at the center of Maymana Naham, during which the battalion was surrounded and forced to surrender.

On Monday evening, the media center for the armed forces announced that "the national army managed to liberate a mountain range in the starboard of Naham front east of the capital, which was under the control of the Houthi militia, noting that the army continued its continuous progress amid desertion and a major collapse in the militia ranks."
