The National Committee to Investigate Allegations of Human Rights Violations has started a field investigation of grave human rights violations committed by the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, in the villages of Islet Bilad al-Wafi of the Jabal Habashi Directorate southwest of Taiz.

A team from the committee examined the effects of the fall of various projectiles on citizens' homes and the directions in which civilians are surrounded in the form of a semicircle in five villages in the district, which endangered the lives of the residents through indiscriminate shelling with imprecise weapons such as mortars.

The team reached the villages of Al-Shaab, Al-Khor, Al-Mabha, Milat and Dahba, and examined the effects of various projectiles on citizens' homes and the directions from which civilians are surrounded in a semi-circle, in addition to endangering their lives on a daily basis through indiscriminate shelling with imprecise weapons such as mortars.

The National Investigation Committee revealed serious violations suffered by the people in the regions of Bilad al-Wafi, and said that it had started today the investigation of the laying of individual mines near water wells and pastures, and the blockade of those areas also resulted in abortions and death of newborns by preventing mothers from reaching the nearest medical facility

It also included violations documented by the Committee and heard the number of "15" women and men who were forcibly displaced from their homes out of "200" displaced, in addition to investigating the forced closure of the only school in the region through direct attack with various weapons and depriving 200 students in the elementary and preparatory stages and high school education for three years, which is one of the six grave violations affecting children.

The remainder of the population who didn’t have the chance to move and leave their homes in those areas live very difficult living conditions that threaten the lives of many of them without any intervention and access from the humanitarian relief, food and sanitation organizations.
