Yemen has witnessed a near-total disruption of the internet service, since last Thursday, amid the suspension of official and financial transactions, and significant losses in the banking sector.

The Houthi militia, which controls the telecommunications sector in Sanaa, claimed that the internet service was stopped, due to a cable cut that drove 80% of the international Internet capacity away from the service.

However, specialists questioned the authenticity of the Houthi version, and stressed that the interruption was caused by the Houthi war on the Internet, and their attempts to impose security control on social networking sites.

Experts say that the Houthi militia has refused to pay the value of the service to the outside company, providing Internet services to Yemen, for nearly six months.

The "Newsyemen" channel, on YouTube, publishes a Motion Graphics video, which reviews the hidden war indicators launched by the Houthi militia on the Internet sector, after it banned Wi-Fi networks in the neighborhoods in the cities under its control.
